Who’s Avi? and why?..

It all began with a late-night drive, where we poured our hearts out, grappling with the immense grief of losing the pillar of our family, my beloved mother Avi. The weight of this loss was taking a toll on Almendra's mental well-being, and together, we resolved to embark on a meaningful journey that would honor the vibrant spirit my mother embodied.

With a shared purpose in mind, we stepped into Michaels, determined to create beaded jewelry as a tribute to my mom. Jewelry held a special place in her heart, evident from the numerous jewelry boxes she possessed. Regardless of the occasion, Avi would adorn herself with layers of necklaces, dazzling rings, and unique, colorful bracelets.

That night, Almendra and I stayed up well past our bedtime, pouring our hearts and souls into crafting beautiful pieces of jewelry. We lost track of time as we meticulously strung beads together, fashioning not only necklaces and bracelets but also rediscovering our own joy. In the act of creation, we found solace and a shared understanding that our Avi was watching over us, laughing alongside us from the heavens above.

Inspired by this newfound connection, we continued to create, weaving together different ideas to honor our beloved Avi. The joy we experienced was too intoxicating to resist, propelling us forward on this creative journey.

Now, almost a year later, with over 10 successful pop-up markets and 450 online sales, we proudly present For.Avi – a small, mother and daughter-owned jewelry business. Almendra effortlessly assumes the roles of designer, social media manager, and the orchestrator of our online orders.

The growth of our business has humbled us, as it began as a simple celebration of my mother's vibrant life. Our jewelry, infused with her colorful essence, has begun to make a profound impact. Through late nights, tired fingers, and occasional frustrations, Almendra and I have forged an unbreakable bond, elevating our mother and daughter relationship to new heights. I cherish the opportunity to empower my daughter, encouraging her to reach for the stars, just as she has inspired me to do the same.
